WW1 Bruce Bairnsfather Grimwades Plate 1917 Staffordshire with the cartoon "Out Since Mons: 'Well, what sort of a night 'ave yer 'ad? Novice (but persistent optimist): 'Uh, alright. 'ad to get out and rest a bit now and again. "
Plate measure 8-1/4" in diameter.
Good condition for its age. Of course, craquelure and brown staining, but the transferware is very good with minimal, if any, rubbing. There is crack on the back that doesn't go through to the front and some rough spots around the rim. Also, any gold trim that was there is gone now.
