This is an original war-time bit of anti-German propaganda showing KAISER WILHELM II speaking to Germania: MAKING FOR SAFETY: WILLIAM II (TO GERMANIA WEEPING FOR HER DEAD) BEFORE GOD AND BEFORE MEN I SWEAR, I DID NOT WISH THIS WAR.) In the background you can see the war’s destruction, the ruin of KULTUR and the belching smokestacks of arms maker KRUPP. In the clouds of smoke are the words “MILITARY NECESSITY KNOWS NO LAW.” This came from an original 1916 issue of THE GRAPHIC MAGAZINE! This is a page that was neatly removed from the magazine. The print measures 16 1/2 inches X 12 3/8 inches. A great historical piece!
